My approach to therapy is flexible and based on a client's individual needs. As a therapist, I provide a safe environment with reflective listening and use various therapeutic modalities to help bring clarity and insight. My primary orientation is cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) which emphasizes on recognizing how thoughts impact behaviors and changing negative thoughts to positive thoughts to promote better outcomes. I also utilize psychodynamic therapy to resolve current concerns, while focusing attention on their origin. Another orientation I use is solution focused therapy to learn what can be done differently by using existing skills, strategies and ideas – rather than focusing on the problem.
I believe I have a natural ability to relate and connect with others, as I have experienced various trials and tribulations. My overall objective within the therapeutic process is to help individuals feel supported. As well as, working together to develop a treatment plan with obtainable goals that result in a healthy and fulfilling life.
"Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong attitude." ~ Thomas Jefferson
